Who we are

Julan Web Studio is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are based in Stavanger, Norway, organisation number 928 865 312. You can reach us at akin@julan.io.

What we collect, and why

When you book a workshop seat we collect your name, email address, and whether you are attending in Stavanger or online. Optionally we also collect your company, your role, whether you already have a Claude Max plan, a short description of what you would like to build, and any dietary requirements. We use these to reserve your seat, to send you joining details, and to order lunch for people attending in Stavanger.

Dietary requirements can reveal information about your health or your religion. We collect them only to order food for people attending in Stavanger, and we delete them within 30 days of the workshop finishing, as described below.

If you ask to be invoiced we also collect your organisation number and an invoicing email address, which we use to raise the invoice.

When you email us directly we keep the message so we can answer it. The project inquiry form on our /start page collects your name, work email, company, what you need help with, your budget range, your timeline and a description of the project, plus optionally your role, your website and how you heard about us. We use this to understand the work before we reply and to quote realistically for it.

If you go on to book a call with us, your name, email and a short project summary are passed to Calendly, our scheduling provider, so the booking form can be prefilled for you. If you arrived from an advertisement, the campaign tags on that link travel to the booking too, so we can tell which advertisement led to the conversation. Those tags describe the advertisement, not you.

Legal basis

We process booking data to perform the contract between us, which is your workshop seat. We process invoicing details to meet our legal obligations under Norwegian accounting law. Where you have given us information we did not need, such as your build idea, the basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

For marketing cookies and advertising measurement the basis is your consent. You give it in the banner at the foot of the page, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who else handles it

Stripe processes your payment. We never see or store your card details. Resend sends our transactional email and also carries every project inquiry you send us, since that message reaches us as an email too, so it handles your email address, the contents of the messages we send you, and whatever you tell us when you get in touch. Calendly handles scheduling. Neon stores our database and Vercel hosts the site. Meta receives advertising measurement events, but only if you have accepted marketing cookies. All six act as processors on our behalf under contract, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Advertising and measurement

If you accept marketing cookies, we measure which of our advertisements lead to a booking. That happens two ways at once, and the two describe the same event rather than two: the Meta pixel reports it from your browser, and our server reports the same event to Meta's Conversions API with a shared identifier so that it is counted once.

The server sends your IP address, your browser's user agent, Meta's own cookie identifiers, and the address of the page you were on. Of that address it sends only the page itself, never anything after the question mark. It never sends your name, your email address, or anything you typed into a form.

If you decline, neither runs. We can still see in Calendly that a booking happened, because that is our own record, but Meta is told nothing.

Cookies

This site sets a cookie that remembers whether you have accepted or declined marketing cookies, and a cookie to keep you signed in if you are an administrator. When an administrator signs in we also store the IP address and browser (user agent) tied to that session, which our sign-in system keeps for security. These are necessary and are set without asking.

If you accept marketing cookies, we load the Meta pixel, which sets cookies that let Meta recognise a browser across visits. Nothing from Meta loads before you accept, and declining leaves the site fully usable.

Our booking pages embed a scheduling widget from Calendly, which may set its own cookies under Calendly's own privacy policy. That embed is the service you came to use, so it loads whether or not you accept marketing cookies.

How long we keep it

Dietary requirements and your build idea are deleted within 30 days of the workshop finishing. Booking and invoicing records are kept for five years, which Norwegian accounting law requires. Anything else we delete when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, or ask for it in a machine-readable format you can take elsewhere. If you accepted marketing cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: the button is at the bottom of this page. Email us for the rest and a human will answer.
